Gaushala Shri Krishneshwar Mahadev

All the religions believe that the whole world is a creation of God, all the souls whether in human body or animal body have equal right to live. All religions teach good qualities of Ahimsa (non-violence), Mercy and Peace. In this Materialistic Iron Age, people are self-centered (believing only in I-My-me).

The urbanization in Australia and surrounding areas has shrunk the natural forest and its wildlife. Many wild animals including Jaguar, Jackal, Fox, Hyena, Deer, Nilgai (Forest Cows), wild boars and many other rare species of birds and wild animals are struggling for their survival in the forests owing to cutting of forest and trees / urbanization / concrete jungles / mining activities. Protecting forests is the need of hour for an ecologically thriving city. The key to sustaining the forests is by protecting its wildlife that thrives on it and preventing encroachment. Peepal is one of the most oxygen producing tree and once grown, it provides sufficient shade also. We should make some effective efforts by saving trees and planting the new ones. Wild Life and Animal Conservation Programme are to protect Animals striving for their survival at NSW. For this, we have made a small effort, there is a gaushala where we arrange food & shelter to all animals wherein they enjoy the gift of freedom as they are not kept in any bondage.

In Hinduism, cows are representative of divine and natural beneficence and so they need to be protected and venerated. The cow has also been associated with number of deities, including Shiva (whose mount is Nandi, a bull), Indra (who is closely associated with the wish-granting cow, Kamadhenu), Krishna (a cowherd in his youth), and goddesses in general (because of the maternal attributes of many of them). Cow is worshiped as a sacred animal in Hindu scripts. We protect, give shelter and food to the cows. Apart from that, we also motivate people to perform the cow cuddling therapy which helps to promote positivity and reduce stress in this fast paced world, spreading love for the animals and nature.

The clear and present threat to these animals is the absence of sufficient provisions of Water and Food, due to which they are forced to leave their natural habitats and move into villages, causing man animal conflict and also many a times risking their lives when in the want of food and water they are forced to use the roads that is fraught with dangers such as speeding vehicles etc.

To address these issues, our NGO has initiated Gaushala Shri Krishneshwar Mahadev – Geetanand Ashram to protect cows and other animals striving for their survival around the Ashram. This is a unique gaushala where all animals enjoy freedom as they are not kept in any bondage. We also do not conduct any commercial activity of selling gaushala products in any manner. If you would like to be a part of our mission and would like to contribute your time and help us care for the deprived animals and restore their natural habitat, we would like to invite you to join us in this noble mission.
